# Introduction

Aurelius Network (formerly named "ThomizNet") is a testing grounds for new projects you are building on Vite.

Aurelius Network was deployed after the Vite Buidl network had significant windows of downtime at the end of June, 2022. 

A functioning testnet is vital for developers on any blockchain, after so many devs were losing time dealing with the downed network, we decided it was time for change, we decided it was time for something better!
